Inkscape 02: Inkscape Overview Basic Controls Freehand Draw Tool Bezier Tool | Assignment: 1. Just for Practice...Draw lines and dots using the Draw Freehand Lines Tool (nothing to upload to your website). 2. Create an image using the Bezier Tool, similar to the one I created. Save as an SVG file...AND export the image as a PNG. 3. Upload the completed Bezier Image to your website. 4. Add Tutorial Title and a description of what you did and the tools you used. |
Inkscape 03: Edit Lines & Curves Style Lines Calligraphy Brush | 1. Create a zig zag line (add & delete nodes). 2. Create a line and change width, style and color. 3. Make two more lines and copy/paste style from #2 above. 4. Create a bezier curve with dotted line and arrow markers. 5. Calligraphy brush...choose TWO (2) presets and draw two simple designs (letters, shapes, or numbers). 6. Save the file as "Line Practice.svg". Total of seven (7) lines should be completed. You should export one (1) png image that includes ALL 7 lines. **Hint: Select all lines, CTRL+G to group, File-Export As PNG. Upload to your website. |
Inkscape 04: Shapes & Layers Path & Exclusion | Assignment: Create the following... 1. Draw FOUR (4) shapes. Rectangle, Circle, Polygon (7 sides), and Star (5 sides). You choose colors for fill and stroke. 2. Draw a rectangle and a Pacman Family.. Daddy, Mama and two baby Pacmans. Use Path, Exclusion to cut out the Pacman family from the rectangle. 3. Create a Star (your choice on points/colors), and change the design by using the nodes. Be creative in this design. Think of something you could use for a logo. 4. Place all of the images in an attractive layout, select all and group. Save inkscape file and export the image and upload to your website. **You will have ONE (1) image that includes all three above (1-3)** |

Inkscape 06: Text on a Path Create a Heart Add Texture
| 1. Upload the Love is in the Air practice image. 2. Find a SHORT quote online that you like and create a path, place the text on the path. Remember to unionize the text and delete the path. Export the text as a .png image and place on your website. 3. Create a heart (export and place on your website). 4. Duplicate the heart two times and add different filters to each. (upload each heart separately to your website). **Hint: Do not export all images at once. I want them exported separately and placed on your website. You should have a total of five (5) images when done. |
